You're gonna go far, kid! The Offspring learned a new skill while on tour, one that not many people can say they they've tried out for themselves: flying a blimp.
The band took to Instagram on Tuesday (November 15) to share a video of them taking a moment from their tour to learn how to fly a small white blimp emblazoned with a stark black image their iconic flaming skull. Set to Foo Fighter's "Learn to Fly," they got a chance to hold the controller that moved the blimp around an arena, a sight that many fans have also seen during shows but one that the band finally had a chance to control themselves.
Todd Morse, Noodles and Jonah Nimoy seemed to have the time of their life, with Morse looking in awe at the blimp flying through the air. Nimoy was more expressive with his excitement, happily telling the blimp controller, "We're just playing songs, but you are making dreams happen."
The Offspring are wrapping up the North American leg of their tour with some final shows in Canada with Simple Plan before ending the year in Australia with Sum 41. While the blimp flying lesson highlighted a bit of fun on tour, it hasn't been without its obstacles. In August, the band experienced quite a scare when one of their cars caught fire on route to a show.
