Miami Beach, FL - A Miami Beach man who owns a charter boat business has been arrested on multiple charges, including human trafficking, lewd and lascivious battery on a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Kutay Satiroglu.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Beach Police Department, the investigation began when the victim’s mother received a call from her older daughter stating that her 17-year-old sister was being held against her will and physically and sexually abused at Satiroglu’s home.
Detectives later interviewed the teen, who said she met Satiroglu in April at a Miami nightclub.
She told police she initially claimed to be 21 but later admitted she was 17.
The report said Satiroglu, who operates a charter boat company, allegedly offered the teen a job as a steward before starting a sexual relationship with her.
Investigators said the teen claimed Satiroglu coerced her into having sex with his friends for money, typically charging between $200 and $800 per encounter, and advised her on how to collect the payments.
She also alleged he supplied her with drugs, organized parties involving other young women, and became violent when she refused his demands.
Satiroglu was taken into custody Wednesday and declined to speak with detectives.
He appeared before a Miami-Dade judge Thursday, who ordered Satiroglu to be held without bond.
In a statement Thursday, Miami Beach Police credited the teen's older sister for coming forward with information.
"Due to her bravery and coordinated response of our detectives, a minor was rescued from a dangerous situation, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident," the statement read.
"The Miami Beach Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute all acts of human trafficking and exploitation."
