FLORIDA - The Florida Highway Patrol has been named the winner of the 2025 “America’s Best Looking Cruiser” contest, marking its third consecutive win.

The contest is organized annually by the American Association of State Troopers and included entries from 49 states this year.

Florida’s winning entry featured a black-and-tan Corvette patrol vehicle positioned in front of a Miami sunset with the city skyline in the background.

The photograph will appear on the cover of the 2026 Best Looking Cruiser calendar. Sales of the calendar support scholarships for the children of state troopers.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles confirmed the win on Monday.

“This is a credit to our team, our mission, and the people of Florida,” said Dave Kerner, the department’s executive director.

FHP Colonel Gary Howze also issued a statement, saying, “This win is for everyone who voted and for the public we serve every day.”

The “America’s Best Looking Cruiser” contest is held annually to promote a positive image of state police agencies.

Each participating state submits one photo, and the winner is selected through a public voting process hosted by the AAST.

Florida is the first state to win the contest three years in a row since its inception.

The Corvette featured in the photo is part of the Florida Highway Patrol’s specialty fleet and is occasionally used for outreach and public relations purposes.
