Miami Gardens, FL - A family dispute in Miami Gardens escalated into violence, resulting in a man allegedly shooting his nephew.
According to police, on Wednesday, officers from the Miami Gardens Police Department responded to a residence near the 4000 block of Northwest 192nd Street shortly before 6 p.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim in a front bedroom, suffering from a gunshot wound to his left buttock.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the injured man to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital for medical treatment.
The victim's brother informed authorities that he received a Ring doorbell alert showing their uncle, identified as 61-year-old Ricardo Fitzgerald Kinsey, approaching the house.
Shortly thereafter, the victim called his brother, stating he had been shot. Upon arriving at the scene, the brother followed a trail of blood to a bedroom, where he found his wounded sibling.
Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators allegedly showed Kinsey walking to a white pickup truck, retrieving what appeared to be a firearm, and then re-entering the home.
The video reportedly captured him loading the weapon before entering, with audible sounds of an argument.
Moments later, Kinsey was seen leaving the house and returning to the truck, while the victim's moans of pain could be heard.
Authorities apprehended Kinsey and transported him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Due to the victim undergoing surgery, he was unable to provide a statement to the police.
Jail records indicate that Kinsey faces charges of second-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
As of Thursday, he remains in custody without bond.
The specific cause of the argument leading to the shooting has not been disclosed by the police.
