(Miami, FL) - Donald Trump's 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump has verbally committed to play golf for the University of Miami.
Kai is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump and the eldest of Trump’s 10 grandchildren.
Kai Trump announced her decision to join the UM team on her Instagram page on Sunday night.
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami,” Kai Trump wrote on Instagram. “I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey. I would also like to thank my great team for getting me to this point. I would like to thank my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support. I would also like to thank my Mormor for always believing in me. I would also like to thank my entire family for always encouraging and pushing me to be the best person I can possibly be. I would like to thank my friends for always cheering me on. Last but not least I would love to thank Coach Janice (Olivencia) and Coach Jim (Garren) for giving me this opportunity. I am (super) excited to be a (‘Cane) and represent the University of Miami. Gooo Canes!”
Trump has not signed a National Letter of Intent so the University of Miami cannot comment on her commitment and has only confirmed that it is recruiting her.
Trump was the highlight of the Republican National Convention when she spoke about her grandfather and their shared love of golf.
Also, apparently, she is a pretty good golfer as she reportedly won the ladies championship at the Trump International Golf Club earlier this year.
