Broward County schools will change the way they handle bomb threats.
The district announced yesterday classrooms will no longer be evacuated automatically when there's a threat made over the phone or through an email or text message. Instead, there will be a thorough credibility analysis involving the school's principal and police.
If the threat is considered highly credible or a suspicious device is found, then an immediate evacuation will be ordered. School officials say this change was made because of a recent increase in bomb threats across the district.
