Ex-NFL player Zac Stacy will remain free on bond in domestic violence case

Former NFL player Zac Stacy will remain free on bond as he awaits trial on domestic violence charges after a hearing Wednesday in an Orlando courtoom. The former running back for the Jets and Rams faces multiple charges after allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend inside her home in Oakland in Orange County earlier this month in front of their 5 month old son.

The judge decided not to increase Stacy's bond despite testimony during the hearing from Kristin Evans that she feared for her life.

"I was slapped, punched, literally picked up and thrown into my TV and then (he) picked me up and slammed me into my son's bouncy seat by my throat," Evans told the judge. "This is not the first time he has been violent with me."

The judge ordered Stacy not to return to Florida except for court hearings. He'll reside at his mother's home in Alabama and will soon head to Colorado to enter a 30-day mental health program.

Stacy could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted of aggravated battery and criminal mischief.
