Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has officially been ruled out for Sunday's (October 6) game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced on their injury report Friday (October 4).

Parsons, 25, who has only missed one game due to COVID-19 during his four-year NFL career, was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of the Cowboys' 20-15 Thursday Night Football road win against the NFC East Division rival New York Giants. Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy previously said the team was preparing to play in Sunday's game without Parsons as he continued to cover from a high-ankle sprain.

"Man, it's like, just frustrating, for real," Parsons said earlier this week via ESPN. "Going from being ready and being there for the team, to being out hurts me because I feel like I'm letting people down."

Parsons was seen walking with a limp as he left MetLife Stadium after the Cowboys' Week 4 Thursday night game in footage captured by WFAA.

Parsons was selected by the Cowboys at No. 12 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft and quickly emerged as one of the league's best defensive players. The former Penn State standout was the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year and has been selected as an All-Pro and Pro Bowler during each of his first three NFL seasons.
