New BUSH: Gavin Rossdale talks about new album The Mind Plays Tricks On You

As BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale snakes his way across the US with LIVE, finishing their 2019 summer tour, he sits down to discuss his forthcoming album, 'The Mind Plays Tricks on You'. If you recall. it's been a few years since BUSH's last effort, 2017's 'Black and White Rainbows'. In this interview, Rossdale reveals the tumultuous environment surrounding the recording of that album, as he endured his divorce with former wife Gwen Stefani. Rossdale says "I think to the point of where listening to a lot heavier music and just really enjoying the music…. The singing and stuff, I like a lot of it, but just the feel, just the heaviness of it is what I enjoy," he explained. "The last record, 'Black And White Rainbows', had kind of a bruised genesis, and this has a slightly more aggressive approach. But aggressive — my version of aggression is not like head butting; it's just deep and powerful."

The new album was recently recorded at a Los Angeles studio with film composer Tyler Bates, who has previously worked with Marilyn Manson. He says you can expect to see it in early 2020.
