FLORIDA - Florida is home to 12 hospitals recognized among the nation's top medical centers in the latest U.S. News and World Report Best Hospitals rankings, highlighting the state's continued presence among the country's leading healthcare providers.
The annual rankings evaluate thousands of hospitals nationwide using measures that include patient outcomes, survival rates, complication rates, nursing quality, patient experience and performance across a range of medical specialties and procedures.
The report is designed to help patients compare hospitals when seeking treatment for serious illnesses or complex medical conditions.
Among the Florida hospitals receiving national recognition are Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Tampa General Hospital, UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, AdventHealth Orlando, Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, Baptist Hospital of Miami, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, Jupiter Medical Center and Baptist Hospital of Miami.
Several of the hospitals also received recognition in specialty areas including cardiology, cancer care, neurology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, gastroenterology and pulmonology.
In addition to overall rankings, many facilities earned high performing designations for specific procedures and medical conditions based on clinical outcomes and quality measures.
The latest report reflects Florida's growing reputation for advanced healthcare, with nationally recognized hospitals located throughout the state, including the Tampa Bay area, Jacksonville, Orlando, Gainesville, South Florida and the Treasure Coast.
The rankings are updated annually and are widely used by patients, physicians and healthcare professionals when evaluating hospitals for specialized care.
Hospital officials say the recognition reflects continued investment in patient care, medical technology and clinical excellence as Florida's healthcare systems continue serving a growing population.
