Group Pushing To Get Sports Gambling On FL Ballot

The push to get sports gambling on the 2022 ballot heats up after the state's gaming compact with the Seminole tribe is thrown out by a federal court. Florida Education Champions political committee spokesperson David Johnson says they need about 900-thousand valid signatures by Feb 1st of next year to be considered.

Florida Education Champions estimate an economic impact of more than three-point-five-billion dollars per year. The Seminole tribe is appealing the decision against the compact that gives it exclusive rights to sports betting in Florida.
