A statue is being unveiled at the Jupiter Inlet, commissioned by the family of one of two boys lost at sea nearly six years ago.

Saturday marks the sixth anniversary of the disappearance of Austin Stephanos and Perry Cohen, known better to the community simply as "Austin and Perry."

The AustinBlu Foundation, started by the Stephanos family, says the statue will not feature either of the boys, and will be in memory of all lives lost at sea.

Austin's father says the family's foundation encourages boaters to carry location beacons to help emergency crews find them if they go missing.

The 14-year old friends set sail to go fishing on July 24, 2015 and never returned.

Their boat was found off the coast of Bermuda the following year, but there's never been a sign of the boys.

The statue will be unveiled at Jupiter Beach Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

It will be placed at the far northern tip of the park where boaters and people fishing will see it as they pass through the inlet.
