Fitz And The Tantrums Are Playing Three Drive-In Concerts This Summer

2012 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival - Day 3

Fitz & The Tantrums have joined the growing list of bands testing out drive-in concerts this summer. On Tuesday (July 7), the band announced three socially distanced shows in Southern California: one in Ventura and two in Anaheim.

"Ventura and Anaheim, Come see us for our first Drive-in shows starting next month! Pre-Sale starts Thursday, 7/9 @ 10am PST," the band wrote on Instagram. "Aug 29 - Ventura County Fairgrounds. Sept 5 & 6 – City National Grove of Anaheim"

Like the name implies, concert goers will arrive and stay in their cars during the entirety of the event. Third Eye Blind is also playing a drive-in show in Ventura on July 25. Details for the Anaheim shows have yet to be revealed.

Drive-In concerts are looking to be all the rage this summer. The Revivalists are playing one in their hometown of New Orleans, and Andrew McMahon is celebrating the 15th anniversary of Everything in Transit with two socially distanced shows in Anaheim.

While bands are figuring out safe ways to play shows during the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 600 artists recently signed an open letter to congress urging the government to aid independent music venues that are in danger of closing their doors forever.
