Anymore, catching David Gilmour play live is a rarity to be coveted. Since his last solo album, he's played few large scale shows, especially in the US. Recently David made the decision to put more than 120 guitars from his personal collection up for auction, causing many to speculate he's hanging up his strat to retire. In a recent interview, the Pink Floyd icon revealed he's not retired yet, but when in fact he does, he probably won't announce it... just more fade away from the limelight.
In the meantime, you can own a guitar played by this legend himself. Think of it as a game worn jersey. Get your check book out though because it's going to cost a pretty penny to own the 12-string acoustic guitar he used to write Wish You Were Here on, in London 1975. A tour of the collection will launch in March, and the proceeds will benefit charitable causes..
