'Partridge Family' Star David Cassidy Dead at 67

The Partridge Family star David Cassidy has died at the age of 67. News recently broke that the '70s heartthrob was hooked up to a breathing tube in the intensive care unit of a Fort Lauderdale hospital due to organ failure.

Sources tell TMZ that Cassidy had been on life support since Monday. Doctors told the family the only way he might survive was through a liver transplant. However, because there was little chance Cassidy would survive surgery, he was not eligible.

The family decided to remove life support today around noon and he passed away shortly thereafter.

Family members at Cassidy's bedside when he died, including his brothers Ryan, Shaun, and Patrick. His children, Beau and Katie were also there along with several nephews and his ex-wife Sue Cassidy.

Cassidy made a name for himself playing "Keith Partridge" on The Partridge Family. He went on to tour the world, performing hit songs like "I Think I Love You." Reportedly, at one point, his fan club was bigger than Elvis Presley's and The Beatles's fan clubs.

In recent years, David struggled with alcohol and was arrested for DUI three times from 2010 to 2014.

In 2011, he appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, but was the first contestant fired from the show.

David kept on performing in America and overseas until he retired earlier this year.
