Arcade Fire, Muse, Haim Rock Coachella's first weekend

Arcade Fire, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, and Haim helped keep the desert rockin' during Coachella's first weekend.

L.A. rockers Haim impressed the festival crowds in Indio, California with their Coachella debut on Friday, while Queens of the Stone Age made their long-awaited return to the event on Saturday.

Muse kept things epic during their Day Two headlining set, which was highlighted by a tribute to Nirvana and another performance of "Lithium." The British rockers debuted the rendition in Brazil last weekend on the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death.

Arcade Fire, meanwhile, closed things out Sunday night with a cameo from Debbie Harry on their cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass."  And with the curfew upon them, the Canadian indie rockers strolled off the stage and into the crowd for a sing-along version of "Wake Up."

All the scheduled performers will return starting Friday for Coachella's second weekend.
